Are you looking for email marketing tips that will help you grow your email list and build relationships with your audience?
A lot of people have been asking me ” Is email marketing effective” or “does email marketing really work”.
So today I have the opportunity to interview Rahul Choudhary from blog2brand to answer all your questions about email marketing.
Rahul is an email marketing expert whom I have known for some time now,
in this interview, he will be sharing different email marketing tips that will help you build an amazing email list.
and also if you are not using email marketing for your business, it’s high time you get into it.
You need to bookmark this post for future reference so that you can come back to it when the need arises.
Having your own email list is essential for your business,
that was why I reached out to Rahul to talk more about email marketing so that my audience can learn from it.
So without wasting much time, let’s get started
Q1. Wow, I am so excited about this interview, Could you please introduce yourself/ your personality.
I started my first blog back in 2017 and I have been helping bloggers & online biz owners with growing their blogs + businesses for quite some time now.
I am also a Martin Scorsese fan (I love those old school gangsta movies!) and a dog lover.
Q2. I have read lots of your posts and you are keen on building an email list.
Please could you explain more what this email list is all about and how important is it to our online business?
See, an email list is a database of emails of people who subscribe to your blog or newsletter.
You can send mass emails to your list whenever you want and spread your word or generate a steady income.
Your email list is your biggest asset, something that you completely own in your business.
You can use your email list to drive traffic to your blog, promote affiliate products, sell your own product, or market your services.
But the biggest reason to start building your email list is the personal connection and trust you get to build with your subscribers.
Q3. In this age of social media, do we really need email marketing?
Of Course, we need email marketing!
Everybody might not have a social media account, but most people have an email account.
The attention span of people on social media is very less, there are a lot of distractions. But when people read an email, they just read that email. There are no ads and the feed isn’t constantly updating.
But the best reason to build an email list over social media following is that the social media platforms could get banned anytime or they can suspend your account, but with having an email list, you’re completely safe. You own your email list.
Another reason for choosing to build an email list is that social media platforms limit your reach with their ridiculous algorithms. For example, if you have 1000 followers, then your post will be shown to only 50-100 people.
But with an email list, you have the potential to reach 100% of your subscribers.
Also, an email list converts much better than any social media platform. The average conversion rate varies from 1-3% (considering different factors), so if your sales email is seen by 100 people, you’re more likely to make a sale than your sales post is seen by the same people on social media.
Q4. We all want an amazing email list, but how do we get people to subscribe and also how you attract your idea audience?
Getting people to subscribe to your email list is much harder nowadays!
You can’t just ask them directly like “sign up for your email list” or “join our newsletter”.
People are conservative about their emails and you need to give them a reason to give you their email list.
This reason is what we call an incentive i.e. a freebie on a topic related to your niche in exchange for their emails.
You need to make sure that these emails are targeted or highly relevant to your niche, otherwise, the wrong people are going to sign-up for your email list.
Q5. In your own opinion what exactly is a lead magnet?
A lead magnet is simply a freebie that you use to attract and capture subscribers or leads to your email list.
It can be anything as long as it provides value to your audience. For example, an eBook, cheatsheet, checklist, email course, software, video series, etc.Email list is so important in your business, to increase leads and sales, check out this posts Click To Tweet
If they find it useful, then THEY ARE definitely going to sign-up, because it’s free. If you create a useless lead magnet, that adds no value to your audience then nobody is going to subscribe, even when it’s free.
Q6. I’m sure everyone wants to hear about your email marketing bundle for bloggers, what inspired you to write this and also what is the story behind it?
Ahh! My email marketing bundle. So, when I started blogging and got into an online business, I read and studied countless blogs.
I noticed that they had this sign-up form, where you subscribe and then you start receiving emails from that blog.
Also, everyone was talking about building an email list, every big name in the blogging, or the online marketing industry.
So, I thought if everybody is talking about it so much then it must be really effective. I gotta learn this. And I started looking for resources to learn about email marketing.
But I couldn’t find any dedicated email marketing resources specifically for bloggers. There were a few but those were expensive for a beginner.
So, that’s why I decided to learn everything possible from different sources, test what specifically works for bloggers and what doesn’t and then I created the email marketing bundle and made sure that it’s affordable enough for beginners so they can also take advantage of email marketing for their blog & business.

your email list is important in your business, you need to know how to grow your email list, how to create an amazing email that your audience would always love to open, and also what types of email to send to them.
Having them on your list is the first step, then to build true relationships you have to be sending educational emails.
This is how you nurture your relationship with your audience.
and you will get all these in this email marketing bundle.
Q7. Who exactly is this email marketing bundle for?
This email marketing bundle is for bloggers who have absolutely no idea how email marketing works and who want to build an email list for their blog from scratch and add an additional source of traffic & income to their business.
This bundle is not for bloggers who are already familiar with more-than-enough email marketing knowledge and are looking to learn extremely advanced strategies.
Q8. What freebies ideas do you think works really well?
There’s no correct answer to this question because different things work for different niches and different types of audiences. You need to test this yourself. Why you need an email list for your business Click To Tweet
But I can tell you what works really well for me: guides and email courses.
The reason why I like email courses is that they put your subscribers into a habit of opening your emails which can be really good for your open rates.
So, you can give them a try!
Q9. I often hear welcome email sequence, what is it exactly and what is included in the welcome email.
A welcome sequence is a series of emails (usually 5-7 emails) that you send to your email subscribers after they subscribe to your email list. These emails are sent at an interval of 1 or 2 days, but it entirely depends on you.
These emails help you nurture your subscribers, build an initial relationship with them, and make a few sales in the process.
Your welcome email should explain who you are and what is it that you do or how can you help your subscribers.
Email marketing is all about building connections with your subscribers and a welcome sequence is the opportunity to do so.
Q10. How do you craft a compelling email that will trigger people to take action?
Every email is crafted differently for different purposes, but if we are talking about writing sales emails that will trigger people to take action, then here’s what I do.
You need to divide your email in three parts.
The first part should be a compelling story, which hooks your subscribers to the product or service you’re promoting. Most of the people take action based on this part only.
The second part is all about numbers i.e. your stats, results, and testimonials showing that your product or service actually works.
The third is all about urgency. You set a deadline on your offer or limit the number of people that can get your offer.
This 3-part system works really well in almost every possible niche.

Q11. What are the most important places, do you think is most important to place your lead magnet, signup forms to attract the right audience to your list?
Again, this is something that you’ll have to test yourself.
There are some niches in which people are used to seeing a lot of forms, so they don’t mind it.
On the other hand, there are niches in which people are not used to seeing a lot of forms, they want information, and hence, seeing a lot of forms might be annoying for them.
But, in general, the four best places to place your opt-in forms are your homepage, sidebar, the bottom of your post right above the last heading, and the top of your post right above your first heading.
Q12. Ok, if I may ask how many email list subscribers do you need to succeed in your online business as a blogger or as an online coach.
Again, there’s no right answer to this question. You can make a lot of money with a small list of 500 subscribers and make absolutely no money with a huge list of 10K subscribers.
It not about the numbers, but your relationship with your subscribers.
The more one-on-one connections you make with your subscribers the more money you’ll make.
Q13. What and what is included in the email marketing bundle for anyone who is willing to purchase it and what will they learn from it.
The email marketing bundle consists of:
➢ An email marketing eBook with tutorials, screenshots and all the information you need as a blogger.
➢ An email subject line workbook.
➢ A spam trigger words cheatsheet.
➢ An emotional trigger words cheatsheet.
➢ An opt-in freebie ideas cheatsheet.
➢ 10 easy-to-use highly converting fill-in-the-blanks sales email templates to promote your own or affiliate products.
By the time you’re finished with the bundle, you’ll be able to set-up forms, send freebies, set-up welcome sequences, create automation and basic sales emails, send broadcasts, craft highly converting emails and most of all: make money with email marketing from your blog.
Q14. How often do we send email to our existing email list?
Once a week or once in two weeks works just fine,
but you have to make sure that you’re not just sending all promotional emails.
You have to maintain a ratio. The 80/20 rule works perfectly fine here
i.e. you need to send 80% of the educational or informational emails and 20% of the promotional emails.
But most of all, be consistent with it.
If you’re sending weekly emails, then do it every damn week, don’t skip a single week. Otherwise, your subscribers are going to start forgetting about you.
Q15. What is your advice for those planning to build their email list?
The best time to start building your email list for your blog is right from the beginning. But it’s still not late!
All you need to do is just start!
Don’t worry about the numbers and focus on building strong relationships with your subscribers. It will pay off in the long run. thank you!
